Calendar 2026
JANUARY // With the arrival of January, the usual New Year’s resolutions cannot be missed. They are usually slightly unpleasant things that we feel we ought to do, but deep down consider far too inconvenient (waking up an hour earlier to go running, just to give an example). The year ahead then becomes like a mountain to climb, just like in the drawing.
FEBRUARY // From time to time, I hear phrases like “think with your head” and “put emotions aside.” I get the impression that some people believe that feeling (emotions) and thinking (logical thoughts) exclude each other. I am convinced that a mind that listens to the heart is more functional than one that tries to silence it. Emotions, after all, are nothing but signals, and if we decide to pay attention to them, we find ourselves riding a friendly wave rather than trying to stop a tsunami.
MARCH // Crazy March—indeed, with this drawing we wobble a little. The question at the core of this drawing is: are our actions determining what we think, or are our thoughts determining what we do? Do we do everything we think? And do we think everything we do? I recommend you keep your feet on the ground and devote less attention to these questions than to the drawing.
APRIL // April, April. It starts like a joke, but then turns out to be a real month of flesh and bone like all the others. In the drawing, I wanted to represent the explosive strength of a sprout that makes its way decisively through uncertainty. Has it ever happened to you that something that began as a joke later turned out to be more important and interesting than expected? I sincerely hope so, otherwise here is April 2026 for you!
MAY // With this drawing, I wanted to represent spring that finally drives winter away. If you look closely, you see a figure that resembles a snowplow clearing the road so that new things can arrive. Have you been putting off a thorough cleaning for a long time, or sorting through your photos on your phone to free up space, or reviewing your wardrobe to discard clothes you don’t and never will wear? This drawing is a signal for you that the right time has finally arrived!
JUNE // This drawing represents the concept of interface: who tells red what yellow does, and yellow what red does? You can also read in the drawing the ability to interpret the same message (orange) and present it to red as if it were yellow and to yellow as if it were red. You know, not to go around telling red what red is and yellow what yellow is. If you like chemistry as well as colors, then for you the title of this drawing is “emulsifier.” Whoever wants to understand, let them understand, because this is a drawing where I have a bit of difficulty serving as an interface with you.
JULY // Sometimes 34 degrees are not enough to warm up cooled hearts. What you need is the protective embrace of a special person who makes you feel safe. And maybe even cooks you a plate of lasagna!
SEPTEMBER // In September the days grow shorter, the air cooler. Despite this, the warm fruits of summer are still felt. This month’s drawing is meant to represent producing with the heart. Even if the path from idea to result is sometimes long and winding, if your projects align with your values, it is usually worth it.
AUGUST // Above the clouds, the sun always shines. Even if there are clouds in your life this August, try to leap above them to rediscover the spark that motivates and ignites you. Clouds can be noisy, intrusive, unwanted, or overbearing, but you can always make a little jump beyond them to grab a piece of sunshine.
OCTOBER // Sometimes we have in our minds an idea for something beautiful and wonderful, but when we carry it out, it turns out rather disappointing. That’s exactly what happened with this drawing. It was supposed to represent the grace and beauty of a person joyfully hopping on clouds. But the colors turned out really terrible in my opinion. However, I decided to leave it in this year’s calendar. Why? To remind myself and remind you too that not all doughnuts come out with a hole, and that’s perfectly fine.
DECEMBER // To close the year, I wanted to offer you a drawing that ties back to the theme of dreams and imagination. Sometimes I notice that I am trapped in a web of thoughts that begin with “I must,” and I think the same happens to you. But what happens if we decide to listen to a voice that does not shout “You must!” but instead asks “What would you like?” I wish you to discover this next year, and I hope you will want to spend the coming year again in the company of me and my calendar.
NOVEMBER // For the month of November, I wanted to represent the ability to feel, see, and find things that not everyone feels, sees, and finds. The ability to see beyond the surface. Whoever manages to do this in a given situation is faced with a dilemma: bring everything to light, or keep the secrets to oneself? What would you do?
